Notifications your way
Pick what you hear about: messages, calls, friend requests, games and Status. Hide previews on your lock screen, and mute any busy chat.
You choose who reaches you, who sees you and what you share.
01
Your chats are between you and the people in them. Only the people in a conversation can see it in Gistmo, and messages are encrypted on the way. Read our Privacy Policy for the details.
02
New accounts start in Ghost mode. Nobody sees you on the map until you choose to share.
03
Block, report, mute and sign out other devices whenever you like. No one is told.
Block
Open their chat info and tap Block. They will not be able to message or call you, and they will not be told. Change your mind? Unblock them in Settings.
Ghost mode
When you share, friends see a rough area about 500 m wide, never your exact location. Want a break? One tap on Ghost and you disappear from the map.
People you block never see you. You drop off the map after 7 days without sharing.
Linked devices
Go to Settings, then Security, then Linked devices. Spot one you do not know? Sign out of all other devices in one tap. Each one needs a new email code to get back in.
Status
Share with all your friends, or only the friends you choose. You decide every time you post, and friends can only repost it if you allow it.
Find them all in Settings and in each chat's info.
Pick what you hear about: messages, calls, friend requests, games and Status. Hide previews on your lock screen, and mute any busy chat.
Turn them on in a chat and new messages disappear after 24 hours. Delete a message for everyone and its content is wiped from our servers.
Choose who sees when you were last online: Everyone, Friends or Nobody. Turn read receipts off if you prefer.
Gistmo Cash is not available yet. When it arrives, every transfer will need your PIN.
Report a problem
Open the chat info and tap Report, or report a single message from its menu. Recent messages go to Gistmo for review, and the person is not told.
Prefer email? Write to us and tell us what happened.
If anyone is in danger right now, call 112 first.

For parents
Talk with your teens about who they add and what they share. Show them how to block, report and turn on Ghost mode, so they know help is a tap away.
